I got a great idea from MoneySavingMom.com. I want to try one new project or recipe every month this year. Some of the things I picked are really simple and easy, but I know if I post about them I’ll be a lot more likely to actually getting around to them. They’re in no particular order, and I’ll just pick whatever project I feel like each month.

  1. Make a headband out of an old t-shirt.
  2. Complete my price book! I’ve been procrastinating on this way too long.
  3. Try my hand at regrowing green onions.
  4. Make foaming hand soap from regular liquid hand soap.
  5. Make spinach artichoke dip.
  6. Make spinach feta quiche.
  7. Make copy cat Olive Garden salad.
  8. Make homemade hummus from homemade tahini.
  9. Try curling my hair with a sock.
  10. Make something from The Frugal Girl’s ebook.
  11. Make homemade play-dough - Tammy from Tammy’s Recipes has it priced (for the cheaper unscented kind) at only 27 cents for 2 cups!
  12. Make homemade pasta.

Can’t wait to start trying these and posting my results!

  1. I’ve been wanting to do the green onions too. I’m anxious to see how you do. I have some in my crisper drawer so I may just have to join you. Happy New Year!

  2. Oooh! Thank you for linking to the foaming dish soap recipe…hope it works for you :) Trying one thing a month is a great idea and I just might look into it myself. If I do it, the Olive Garden copy cat recipe will HAVE to be on it!!

  3. This is so awesome! I will do this too :-)

    • I just read your list! Great ideas! You’ll have to share a picture of the skirt when it’s finished!

  4. I want to try the green onions in a jar too! One of my goals is to bake bread from scratch this year. Great list.

  5. What a fun list! The onions work really well. Make sure to keep the water clean. They grow so fast! I love to just snip a bit when needed!

  6. Great List! I just did #4 right before I got on the computer! It worked great except I used frugal girls recipe. The only difference is they say not to shake the bottle to just tilt it up and down slowly and side to side a few times. I would suggest this because I use foaming hair dye and they caps to not shake it when mixing the dye in the directions. I’m not sure why. anyway Good luck with your projects they sound fun! :)
