This week I’m tossing:
- Leftover smoothie – I usually put that into popsicle molds for a healthy snack for Gracia, but my mold was full at the time.
- A whole batch of German potato salad – I feel bad about this. The potatoes didn’t quite get soft enough and I tried using apple cider vinegar instead of regular vinegar, which resulted in a very strong vinegar taste, so I’m throwing it all out. And those were red potatoes from my bountiful basket.
- I also have 2 artichokes that I think will probably end up in the trash too. They were from my first bountiful basket and I kept putting off cooking them until they were getting a little brown. Then I steamed them up and they got even browner and since I’ve never cooked with raw artichoke I’m not sure if that’s normal or if I just waited to long to cook them…but I have a feeling they’ll end up in the trash. On the good side, out of the 2 bountiful baskets I’ve gotten, the potatoes and artichokes are the only things I’ve wasted so far…I feel like that’s not too bad, although it definitely leaves room for improvement!
Now for the good news! We’ve been accepted to start our missionary training with New Tribes Mission in August!! We are SOOOOO pumped! This will mean moving to Missouri where the training center is. We’ve been desiring to go into foreign missions since before we got married, and now that we’re finally going to the training center it feels like it’s FINALLY becoming a reality!
