I love seeing what others find at thrift stores, so I thought I’d share some of our recent finds. Their’s a consignment store here that I’ve fallen in love with, it’s called Bear Market. Unlike any other second-hand store I’ve seen this one actually has a theme to it with a big stuffed bear in a show case and fun bear facts all around! It’s also pretty clean and organized and the prices aren’t bad either!

This shelf was from Bear Market for $15:

When we first got here Gracia was scared to sleep in the dark, so we found a cute flower light for only $3. We did hang it on the wall at first, but have since decided it’s better on her bed stand.

This blender may look old, but it still works good enough to make me smoothies and only cost $7.80!

This laundry hamper was just $3 at a different thrift store, where we also bought some hangers and trash cans, but I don’t remember the costs of those.

Do you have any favorite thrift/consignment stores?

  1. Our local Women’s Shelter gets about 60% of it’s funding through a thrift store that is run by volunteers (only on paid employee, and that is the manager/supervisor) It is fairly well organized, the prices are VERY good, and I like knowing that about 85% of the money (after utilities and one payroll position) is going towards helping women come out of abusive situations.

  2. We have a thrift store here in town that is run by a church. All items are very inexpensive. All used clothes are .25 cents each, I recently took my grand daughter to pick out fall clothes that I can have on hand when she is here. Board games range from 25 cents to $1.50. I’m making Alphabet samplers for my grand children’s new rooms in their new home (closing is today) and needed frames. I got two for 50 cents each. I told my neighbor about it and her husband is still talking about the expensive brand name sheets he picked up for $1.00. All the money from the sale of the clothing goes towards supplying the children of local low income families with socks and underwear and a few school supplies each year as well so the money is also my way of supporting a good cause.

  3. That looks suspiciously like the blender at my parents’ house.
