See these fabulous sneakers? Cameron’s been walking around in them for a while. When the big split appeared in his left shoe he tried duck-tape, but it just didn’t hold the split like he wanted, so being the ingenious man that he is, he sewed them up using nothing other than the shoe’s own shoe lace!
For the record, Cameron does have another pair of lovely sneakers, but he insists on wearing these for everyday use. And also for the record, I’m not necessarily recommending this, just thought you might like to laugh at him…that’s what I do!
Picture number two is actually something from when I was 16. I was cleaning out my back pack and all of these tiny pencil stubs were in there. My parents thought I should chuck them, but I figured they could still be used! My Dad thought it was so funny that he saved them and on their trip out here just a couple of weeks ago brought them to me!
See the note he included?
I guess I was a touch frugal even back then! Now I’m feeling old!

Funny! I had just given my mother a hard time about her stubby pencils this summer. She didn’t live through the depression but I had to point out to her that she is pretty frugal in ways she didn’t even realize. Tell Cameron to get out the Shoe Goo.
Don’t tell my husband! He would do this with his boots, which he wears to work at a hospital and sees patients (so scrubs and hiking boots), and he wouldn’t believe me that it’s not appropriate!
Lol I have a pair of heels that are held together with black tape and a pair of Nikes that I had glued the doles back on twice with hot glue! I finally had to stop wearing the Nikes ;( they were the full shox and I can’t find anymore;(
I love it. Of course being a man duct tape was the first thing tried. Does he go through many shoe laces? It looks like they would be worn down and frayed the way they are sewn.
I love this! It makes me think of the things in my house that most people would find funny but frugal people would find inspiring!
