I already told you about the cheeseball cake for my sister-in-laws birthday party, but we didn’t just have that. We also had crackers, veggies, dip, cookies, and a popcorn bar. If you want to throw a party, but don’t have lots of money to do it with, a popcorn bar is a fun and frugal snack idea.

We popped LOTS of popcorn! I used this method, using an old pressure cooker pot. Pressure cooker pots work well, because they have a nice heavy bottom.

We made:

  • Classic Salt & Butter
  • Peanut Butter popcorn – Which was probably the most-eaten by the end of the night.
  • Spicy – Creole seasoning, paprika, cayenne pepper, chili powder, cracked pepper and tabasco sauce.
  • Cheesy – We used parmesan and a nacho cheese flavored popcorn seasoning. You can also use box mac-n-cheese powder.

Another option, which we decided not to do is ranch, just sprinkle some ranch seasoning on it. Lemon pepper is good too! And then of course, there’s always carmel popcorn and kettle corn. Really your options are endless with a popcorn bar!

What are your favorite popcorn seasonings?

  1. What a great idea I can see this being a lot of fun with everyone in my family too.

My favorite popcorn is probably the least healthy, smothered in real butter a close second depending on my mood is kettle corn which to me is more candy than popcorn.
